Paris Founder Ecosystem

The Paris founder ecosystem is the social and physical infrastructure Mike and Achraf navigate as working founders. It is visible across the WhatsApp and LinkedIn record as a small, tightly connected circle of venues, programs, and events. The same people recur across Station F events, lu.ma meetups, accelerator interviews, and casual coworking visits.

Venues

• Station F — The 13th-arrondissement startup campus at the center of the ecosystem. Used by Mike for peer meetings and events, not as a residency.
• anomalie.space — Small AI-agent studio in the 14th arrondissement. Mike's only formal residency affiliation (June–August 2025).
• Morning coffee (12 Av. d'Italie, 75013) — A repeated working and meeting venue for Mike and Achraf.
• Felicita, LIZARD, Wanderlust, Grands Boulevards — Evening venues in central Paris where founders and peers meet after working hours.

Mike has not named a successful fundraise in any entry. The ecosystem's funder layer is visible only through its rejections.

Network Structure

The ecosystem connects through personal introductions more than through formal application. Mike's August 2025 LinkedIn connection surge (38 new connections in one month) followed physical attendance at Station F and anomalie.space events rather than cold outreach. The single most frequent node in the graph is Achraf — every significant ecosystem relationship Mike maintains can be traced through either Achraf or through Mike's own shipping cadence rather than through institutional affiliations.

Strain Points

By April 2026 the ecosystem is under internal critique in the Mike and Achraf WhatsApp thread. The critique centers on invisible gatekeeping — Achraf's phrase "il n'y a que des pistonnés" (there are only connected people) — and on the funding layer's habit of backing lower-quality implementations of the same thesis. Emigration from France to Toronto or similar was floated for the first time on April 14, 2026, partly as a response to the perceived limits of the Paris ecosystem for founders from their background.
