Goal Contribution

Goal Contribution is the performance measurement tool in the BALLER suite, co-founded with Achraf Adjileye. It quantifies every player's true impact within a goal-scoring sequence, distributing credit beyond the scorer and final assister. Deployed at goal-contribution.vercel.app/en.

Concept

The README description: "Beyond goals & assists: a metric that quantifies the true impact of every player in a goal-scoring sequence, across Europe's top leagues."

Standard football statistics reward the last two actions in a sequence. Goal Contribution attributes credit to the full build-up: the pre-assist pass, the off-ball run that created space, the defensive action that sparked the transition. The metric targets the top European leagues as its initial data surface.

Role in the Co-Founding Arc

In the WhatsApp thread, Achraf often referred to this product simply as "gC." By February 2026, Achraf was actively responding to Twitter replies on "goal Contribution" posts at 20+ per day, a signal of inbound interest from the football analytics community. The product's public traction served as proof-of-life for the broader BALLER thesis when SquadGen's scouting outreach stalled.

The December 2025 decision to add a Transfer Portal feature to SquadGen emerged partly from the patterns surfaced by Goal Contribution. Seeing which players actually contributed across sequences suggested an opportunity: predict those contributions forward, across transfer windows — which became Transfer Portal.

Status

Live at goal-contribution.vercel.app/en. Part of the BALLER suite deployed on Vercel subdomains that share infrastructure. Actively in use as of early 2026, with Achraf driving the Twitter audience and Mike's contribution concentrated on the application layer.
