ESIEE Paris

ESIEE Paris is the engineering school where Mike earned his Diplôme d'ingénieur between September 2021 and September 2024. The degree was completed in alternance, a French apprenticeship format that pairs academic coursework with a host company, alongside a three-year contract at Safran in Moissy-Cramayel.

Program Structure

The ESIEE engineering degree followed an earlier DUT in computer science at Université Paris-Est Créteil (2019–2021). The UPEC DUT gave a two-year foundation, after which Mike moved to ESIEE for the three-year engineering track. The total formal education spans five years from 2019 to 2024.

The apprenticeship pairing meant coursework alternated with full-time weeks at Safran. The Safran engagement as "Alternant Développeur et Analyste de données Supply Chain" began in the same month ESIEE started (September 2021) and ended the same month the degree was awarded (September 2024).

Québec Exchange

Between September 2023 and January 2024, Mike left ESIEE for a student exchange at Université du Québec en Outaouais in Canada. This was a four-month interruption of the apprenticeship rhythm. It is the only international academic experience in the record.

Curriculum in the Repos

The GitHub repository timeline reflects the ESIEE curriculum:

  • Systems programming in C (2021)
  • Object-oriented Java (2021–2022; earlier Java work at Université Paris-Est Créteil|UPEC)
  • Advanced Java features (2023)
  • Network programming and concurrency (2023)
  • Distributed systems and network protocol implementation (2024)

The final-year project Protocol-UGP implemented a full TCP-based task distribution protocol in Java 19. The project references Université Gustave Eiffel (UGE) in its name — a nod to the eastern Paris academic cluster rather than to ESIEE directly.

Distinction from ESIPE

An earlier GitHub repository description named the school as "ESIPE." ESIEE Paris and ESIPE (École Supérieure d'Ingénieurs Paris-Est) are distinct institutions. The LinkedIn record is the authoritative source: the Diplôme d'ingénieur was awarded by ESIEE Paris. See ESIPE for the older attribution.
