ESIPE Student Era

The ESIPE student era spans 2019 through September 2024 — five years of formal engineering education followed by a clean break into the Solo Founder Era. The LinkedIn record clarifies that the engineering school was actually ESIEE Paris, not ESIPE as an early GitHub repository suggested; the era keeps its slug for continuity but covers the full academic path through three institutions.

The period covers a DUT at Université Paris-Est Créteil (2019–2021), an engineering Diplôme d'ingénieur at ESIEE Paris completed in alternance with Safran (2021–2024), and a four-month exchange at Université du Québec en Outaouais (Sep 2023 – Jan 2024). Two professional roles bracketed and filled the period: a short internship at EasyVista (Mar–Jun 2021) and the three-year apprenticeship at Safran.

DUT at UPEC (2019–2021)

The academic trajectory began at the Fontainebleau IUT of Université Paris-Est Créteil, a two-year applied computer science program. The DUT covered foundational programming in PHP, Java, and C. MEA Quizz (May–June 2020) is the signature artifact of the DUT period — a first-year PHP web application built as a quiz creation tool for teachers. The GitHub account was created in January 2020, mid-DUT. The first batch of public repositories (MEA_QUIZZ, SNAKE, SUDOKU) appeared in July 2020, archiving finished coursework.

The EasyVista internship at the end of the DUT (March–June 2021) was the first corporate environment. The scope was narrow — GUI test automation in Ranorex Studio — and produced no lasting technical interest.

Engineering Degree at ESIEE (2021–2024)

The three-year engineering degree at ESIEE Paris was structured as an alternance — alternating weeks between academic coursework and full-time work at Safran in Moissy-Cramayel. Both commitments started in September 2021 and ended in September 2024. At Safran, Mike worked as "Alternant Développeur et Analyste de données Supply Chain" on a ReactJS/Node.js web application and data analysis in Talend and Power BI in support of a SAP migration.

The curriculum progressed through systems programming in C (first year), object-oriented Java, then advanced Java features (streams, optionals, concurrency), network programming, and distributed systems. Repository names track this sequence: Portfolio_C (Oct 2021), Splendor (May 2022), advanced_java / networking_java / Java_Concurrence (Feb–Apr 2023). Go learning ran parallel to the curriculum throughout 2023 as self-directed work.

Mobistory (June 2023), a Flutter-based Android app for exploring historical events, was the first project outside the Java/C academic track and the first with a user-facing concept. Protocol-UGP (January 2024) was the final-year distributed computing project, implementing a TCP-based task distribution protocol in Java 19.

Québec Exchange (Late 2023)

A four-month exchange at Université du Québec en Outaouais in Gatineau bisected the third year of the ESIEE program. The francophone Canadian setting made language a non-issue; the exchange is the only international academic experience in the record. No repository, relationship, or philosophical shift is attributed to the period, and both the apprenticeship at Safran and the ESIEE coursework resumed on return.

Transition Out (2024)

The Safran contract and the ESIEE degree ended in the same month (September 2024). Hogwarts Artifacts Online (October 2024), a Spring Boot demonstration project with Docker Compose, Grafana, Prometheus, and Zipkin, sat between the end of the academic era and the first commercial product launches. It reads as a capstone portfolio piece rather than a continuation of coursework. The student era dissolved into the Solo Founder Era over the following months rather than ending on a single date.
