SquadGen

SquadGen is the consumer-facing product layer of the BALLER suite. It generates coherent football squads from a small seed of player names, using BALLER's contextual embeddings to fit complementary players around the seed. Deployed at baller-squadgen.vercel.app. Co-founded with Achraf Adjileye.

Concept

The README description: "From a few player names to a coherent squad, instantly. Built on top of BALLER's contextual embeddings."

The pitch positioning for SquadGen in summer 2025 framed it as "our AI football squad builder using 10K+ coaches' insights." The 10,000-coaches language indicates a training data source beyond the raw lineup information BALLER absorbs — coaching playbooks, tactical annotations, or behavioral data from aggregated scouting input.

Go-to-Market

SquadGen was the flagship Mike and Achraf pitched to the professional scouting network in August 2025. Targets included scouts from Chelsea, Arsenal, Brentford, Bayern Munich, and Paris FC, approached through LinkedIn. The Professional Football Scouts Association (PFSA) and the European Association of Scouts were discussed as B2B2C distribution partners.

A Transfer Portal feature was added in December 2025. This was the bridge between SquadGen (static squad construction) and Transfer Portal (dynamic fantasy-agent behavior), and marks the moment the product scope widened from team composition into ongoing player evaluation across windows.

Position in the Co-Founding Arc

SquadGen is the product that consumed most of Mike's LinkedIn outreach time between July and December 2025. It also drove his founder-identity shift in LinkedIn messaging: Mike reframed his startup as live and revenue-seeking rather than pre-product, captured in a message to a peer, "Entreprise, c'est un bien grand mot mdr. C'est juste une startup qui n'a pas encore de revenus lol."

The product remains live as part of the BALLER ecosystem. Active product roadmap conversation has since migrated to Transfer Portal.
